Over the past two decades, STEM education has become increasingly popular in the United States and many other countries around the world. So, what exactly is STEM education? What are its strengths and limitations? And what lessons can Vietnam learn from STEM education, especially in the context of developing the new General Education Curriculum?

Ho Chi Minh City, October 4 – A signing ceremony was held between the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (DOET), the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University (USA), and EMG Education to introduce the Stanford Mobile Inquiry-based Learning Environment (SMILE) – an innovative STEM education model developed by Stanford University.

On the morning of September 11, 2015, a Signing Ceremony of Cooperation took place at the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (DOET) between the department, EMG Education, and Pearson Education Limited.

After more than a year of applying this integrated program to selected primary and lower secondary grades at 60 schools across Ho Chi Minh City, it has received highly positive feedback from school administrators, teachers, parents, and students.

The ACT test, administered by the American non-profit testing organization ACT, will serve as a new benchmark for Ho Chi Minh City’s “Integrated English Program,” which teaches mathematics and science in English.
