Nearly 1,000 students from Ho Chi Minh City's Integrated English Program were awarded Pearson Edexcel International General Certificates during a ceremony on March 16th, recognizing their outstanding performance.
Bui Khoi Nguyen, a student from An Binh Primary School, Thu Duc City (second from the left), achieved the highest score in the world for Maths, and Le Dinh Trung Hieu, a student from Saigon Practical High School, District 5 (third from the right), achieved the highest score in Vietnam in both Math and Science.
The students in grades 5, 9, and 11 (2022-2023 academic year) from the Integrated English Program participated in the 2023 Pearson Edexcel certificate exams and achieved high results.

Notably, Vietnamese students demonstrated outstanding mathematical abilities, with 84% of high school students achieving excellent scores (compared to 54% for students globally).
At the ceremony, EMG Education honored and awarded Bui Khoi Nguyen, Bui Khoi Nguyen, who achieved the Highest Mark in the World for Mathematics at a primary level which is only achieved by 47 students out of 4200 students globally who sat for the same paper; and Le Dinh Trung Hieu, a student from Saigon Practical High School, District 5, who achieved the highest score in Vietnam in both Math and Science.

In addition, EMG Education also presented awards to 9 students who received the Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards (students with the highest test scores nationwide in each subject) and 24 students who achieved the Excellence Awards – excellent scores in all three subjects: Math, English, and Science.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, emphasized: “Inheriting and promoting the tradition of studiousness of Vietnamese students over many years, the students participating in the 2023 Pearson Edexcel certificate exam continue to achieve excellent results compared to the region and the world.
This demonstrates the quality of the Integrated English Program and the correct direction of the city's education sector in promoting the improvement of English proficiency and subjects taught in English. It also encourages students to take international certificates as a necessary preparation for their future study and career plans.”
