EMG Education Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training and Educational Partners

On the morning of April 17 in Thai Nguyen, a signing ceremony was held to promote English as a second language in schools. The event was attended by Iain Frew, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Vietnam; Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Trinh Viet Hung, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee; along with representatives from the Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training, other local departments, EMG Education, Pearson Education, and various other educational partners.

During the event, delegates witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training and educational partners, including EMG Education, Pearson Education, and Sigma Group.

According to the agreement, EMG Education and its partners will research and explore educational solutions and digital products to support teachers in teaching Math, English, and Science. The aim is to raise the standard of teaching and learning these subjects in English across selected schools in the province.

For many years, EMG Education has been a pioneer in introducing advanced educational solutions. The organization has implemented various technological applications, including online classes, the Learning Management System (LMS), and artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support pronunciation training. Additionally, EMG Education continues to promote the use of modern technologies such as 3D models, virtual laboratories, and classrooms based on the Metaverse platform, enabling Vietnamese students to access cutting-edge educational solutions commonly used in leading education systems worldwide.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Iain Frew and Secretary Trinh Viet Hung expressed their delight at the cooperation potential and opportunities for expansion. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to advancing cooperation in economic, cultural, and social spheres, with a strong focus on education.

In his remarks, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong commended the proactive efforts of the Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training in advising and promoting the process of making English a second language in schools. He recognized the contributions of educational partners and expressed hope that provincial leaders would continue to provide direction and support for the development of local education and training, especially in English teaching and learning.

Deputy Minister Thuong emphasized the importance of focusing on key pillars for modernization and development, including science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, foreign languages (especially English), international cooperation, and education.

“To focus on human development and build high-quality human resources, all levels of education must continuously improve teacher capacity and teaching methods, as well as the quality of curricula, textbooks, and learning materials. In particular, it is necessary to promote international cooperation to train personnel and exchange training programs,” Deputy Minister Thuong stressed.

He also stated that the Ministry of Education and Training has advised the government to accelerate the process of making English a second language in schools. To ensure this initiative is effective, it will require direction and support from local authorities, active participation from the Department of Education and Training, and strong coordination with educational partners.
