More than 200 students from the Integrated English Program have been awarded the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE certificates, achieving a higher rate of top scores than the global average.
1. 200 students receive the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE certificates
On February 19, EMG Education Group held an online award ceremony to present the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE certificates for the 2020–2021 academic year to more than 200 students from the Integrated English Program.
The ceremony aimed to honor the outstanding academic achievements of over 200 high school students in the program, as measured by international standards.
The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE is a globally recognized qualification for students completing the secondary education level under the UK national curriculum. The certificate is awarded by Pearson Education Group, the largest examination board in the United Kingdom, and holds the same value as the UK’s General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE).
During the 2020–2021 school year, when many countries were unable to conduct in-person examinations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Pearson adopted a comprehensive assessment method, awarding grades based on students’ overall academic performance throughout the course.

Ms. Emma Whale – Vice President, Global General Qualifications, Pearson Education Group
Representing Pearson Education Group, Ms. Emma Whale, Vice President of Global General Qualifications, shared:
“I am extremely proud to announce that students from the Integrated English Program implemented by EMG Education achieved results above the global average in the recent International GCSE grade assessment. Particularly in Mathematics, over 75% of students scored grades 7, 8, and 9. The number of high achievers in Science and English also increased compared to the previous year. Such remarkable achievements are undoubtedly the result of the dedication, determination, and commitment of teachers and my colleagues at EMG Education.”
2. Outstanding student awarded research scholarship
Among the more than 200 honored students, Phan Ngọc Châu Anh, a student at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, achieved the maximum score in all three subjects – English, Mathematics, and Science, becoming one of the few students worldwide to attain this perfect result in the recent assessment.
In recognition of her outstanding performance, EMG Education awarded Châu Anh a VND 200,000,000 scholarship to attend the Summer Scientific Research Program for talented high school students at the University of California, Irvine (USA).
Through this scholarship, Châu Anh will have the opportunity to learn, engage in research with leading professors and scholars, experience university life in the U.S., and earn college credits upon completing the program.

3. Students’ achievement and the program’s efforts
Over the past years, the Integrated English Program has continuously innovated its teaching methods and taken the lead in applying advanced solutions to meet the demands of Education 4.0. The program has successfully implemented digitalized learning experiences and technology integration in teaching, assessment, and evaluation, contributing to students’ tangible academic achievements, as reflected in their International GCSE results.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hiếu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, shared:
“The Integrated Program in Mathematics, Science, and English—combining the UK and Vietnamese national curricula—has become a highlight of Ho Chi Minh City’s education system in recent years. Our students have demonstrated strong academic performance through this program.
The 2020–2021 academic year was particularly challenging, as both teachers and students had to adapt to online teaching and learning. However, they all overcame these difficulties, and the results from the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE assessment clearly reflect our students’ capabilities as well as the dedication and commitment of EMG Education in teacher selection and instructional organization during the pandemic and online learning period.”

Students in this program acquire high-level thinking skills and diverse problem-solving approaches — essential competencies for addressing the complex challenges of the 21st century. We are immensely proud to accompany them on their learning journey. Who knows, among today’s students, there might be a future Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, or Elon Musk.”
