On August 19, 20, and 21, EMG Education, in collaboration with ICDL Vietnam, organised a professional training course for teachers from primary, lower secondary, and high schools across Ho Chi Minh City. This annual initiative aims to prepare teachers for the implementation of the international computer science and digital skills program ICDL Digital Student and contribute to enhancing the quality of its delivery in the 2026–2027 academic year.

Following the training course, participating teachers highlighted several advantages of the ICDL Digital Student program, including a coherent curriculum framework, a well-structured and consistent knowledge system, comprehensive and synchronised supplementary materials and teaching tools, as well as internationally recognised certifications. These features provide practical benefits for both teachers and students throughout the teaching and learning process.

The ICDL Digital Student program is specifically designed for primary, lower secondary, and high school students. Its carefully curated content focuses on three key areas of knowledge: Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, and Digital Literacy.
The program aligns with the Vietnam Digital Competency Framework issued under Circular No. 02/2025/TT-BGDĐT dated January 24, 2025, as well as the General Education Curriculum Framework for Informatics issued by the Ministry of Education and Training under Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGDĐT. The program also meets the standards for information technology skills stipulated in Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BTTTT issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications.
ICDL is also among the international standards recognised under Project 762, titled “Enhancing Informatics Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Application for General Education Students in Ho Chi Minh City towards International Standards, 2021–2030,” pursuant to Decision No. 762/QĐ-UBND dated March 8, 2021.
The ICDL certification is recognised under the European Commission’s European Digital Competence Framework (DigComp) and fully covers the competency areas outlined in UNESCO’s Digital Literacy Global Framework (DLGF). Upon completing each module, students can take the corresponding examination to earn an international ICDL certification. The certification is valid for life and recognised in more than 100 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Singapore, and Thailand.
In addition to its international recognition, ICDL certification offers practical benefits in Vietnam. These include preferential consideration for admission to a number of universities, recognition as a substitute for introductory informatics courses, and exemption from certain informatics courses and exit-standard examinations at selected universities and colleges.
